Strike the Yoga Pose

Basically, yoga is about stretching and tons of body movements. But, there’s more to yoga than stretching and flexing a person’s muscles.

“Balance” is the keyword to consider in understanding the depths of yoga. Contrary to the common conception that yoga is all about flexing and stretching, yoga involves the concept and application of balance and the unification of a person’s web of dualities. Although yoga involves a lot of stretching, it paves the way for the creation of a certain balance in the body by improving both the body’s strength and flexibility.

The Yoga Moves

Most experts agree that practicing yoga is one of the most powerful and rewarding things a person can do for himself or herself spiritually, physically, and mentally because it is suitable enough for almost anybody despite age or fitness differences.

Boiled to its essentials, yoga is done by performing poses that have specific physical and wellness benefits. These yoga poses can be performed in succession quickly. Thus, it will create heat in the body through specific movements. If done properly, yoga poses can increase your stamina.

There are actually ideal ways each yoga pose should be done. But before you learn all the different ways of performing each yoga pose, you should familiarize yourself first about the existing kinds of yoga poses out there.

One of the most popular yoga poses is the “Adept Pose.” This yoga pose is also known as “The Accomplished” pose because the movements involved implies the accomplishment of a perfect and stilled mind, which is a result of deep meditation.

Next is called the “Bow Pose” which involves a bow-shaped, curved, or bent series of movement, which is an effective way of restoring flexibility to a person’s spine as well as relieving lower back pain and releasing tension. Regular practice of the pose is beneficial to a person’s development of upper-body strength.

The “Camel Pose,” on the other hand is known as a powerful pose for stretching a person’s spine, back muscles as well as the shoulders and the arms. If you want a more relaxing yoga pose, then you should try the “Child Pose” because it softly relaxes the back muscles, the shoulders, the neck, and the thighs by stretches it.

Unlike the “Cobra Pose” that requires you to hold your breath while you’re performing the pose improve your stomach, spine, stomach and pelvic muscles the “Corpse Pose” wouldn’t move you to all. The pose’s aim is to relax your body by being still and motionless. This will result to a deep and stable relaxation through meditation.

The “Eagle Pose,” on the other hand, is quite popular for its capability to strengthen a yoga practitioner’s legs, knees, and ankles because it involves a lot of stretching that tones the mentioned muscles. The “Forward-bend Pose,” or “The Noble Pose” is known for providing powerful, mighty, strong, or noble posture and is highly beneficial because it also involves a lot of stretching. It is also known to help relieve stress and fatigue while soothing the soreness of a person’s lower extremities.

Other yoga poses include “Cow-face Pose,” “Fish Pose,” “Half Moon Pose,” “Half Spinal Twist Pose,” “Hand-Foot-Big Toe,” “Headstand Pose,” “Hero Pose,” “King of the Dance Pose,” “Locust Pose,” “Lion Pose,” “Lotus Pose,” “Mountain Pose,” “One-Legged Pose,” “Plow Pose,” “Powerful or Noble Pose,” “Restrained Angle Pose,” “Salutation Pose,” “Scorpion Pose,” “Shooting Bow Pose,” “Shoulder Stand Pose,” “Sun Salutation Pose,” “Thunderbolt Pose,” “Tree Pose,” “Triangle Bow Pose,” “Turned Side-Angle,” “Wheel Pose,” and the “Wind Relieving Pose.”

Each of these yoga poses has their own function and benefits. Make sure that you are familiar on how to use these poses before you try performing them.
